About the Event

Six middle school contest winners took home $1,300 in awards at the annual Super Summer Science Search on July 15th. Presented by Teen Advisory Council, the contest challenged students to pitch a solution to sustainable consumption and showcase their creativity and problem solving skills in a short video and written submission. Winning teams were Sanvi Mishra and Dhriti Ganesh in first place with their mobile app EcoTrack; Ian Leung, Aarush Shah and Praneel Sharma with their AI-trained mobile app Sustain.AI in second place, and Anya Sarode with sustainable eco-friendly recipe EcoFoodie website in third place.

Since 2011, the Teen Advisory Council has hosted the competition to introduce students to the application of STEAM to real-life applications, develop students’ hard and soft skills including writing, videography, creativity, ideation, teamwork, research, and communication; and provide students with a 6-week hands-on opportunity to explore topics like sustainability, AI, and mobile app creation.
